VIDEO: David Cross, Keith Olbermann Redeem 17 Minutes of Awkward Chatter with Arrested Development Update

David Cross appeared on Countdown on Monday night, where host Keith Olbermann coaxed an update about the development of the long-gestating movie adaptation of Arrested Development. And that’s when things got awkward. From the subject of Michael Cera’s physical appearance (Olbermann says he looks the same today as he did on the series, Cross politely corrects him) to Jason Bateman’s choppy recent output (Cross: “You guys got a beef, you can take it up with him”) to Olbermann’s insomnia-curing “Lizzie Montgomery” story, this is 17 minutes of informational milestones scattered in a cringe-y, wince-y talk-show desert. How did Cross withstand it? Theories abound, but that looks like a lucky and/or mood-altering ballcap if I’ve ever seen one.
